Colloquium: Thoms talks toxic triggering in plant immune responses to microbes

The Fall 2024 Biology Colloquium Series continues Friday with a seminar by David Thoms, Assistant Professor of Biology at Florida State University. Dr. Thoms studies the molecular signals that let plants’ immune systems distinguish beneficial microbes from pathogens. His talk, supported by URISE and Bridges to the PhD, will be titled, “Plants favor commensals over pathogens via a toxin-triggered immune response”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. Thoms will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
