Colloquium: Kirmiz on the infancy of the human microbiome

The first seminar in the Biology Colloquium series for the Spring 2019 semester will be given by CSUN Biology postdoctoral researcher Nina Kirmiz. Kirmiz studies how humans acquire our microbiome — the community of bacteria that live within our bodies. She will present research about how compounds in breastmilk help determine which bacterial species establish in babies’ guts to make up the microbiome.

The Biology Colloquium series is held every Friday during the semester, at 2:00pm in Chaparral Hall room 5125.
