This week’s seminar in the Biology Colloquium series will be given by Sonya Neal, Assistant Professor in the Division of Biological Sciences at UC San Diego. Neal, who is visiting campus at the invitation of the MARC program, studies endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation. This process clears misfolded proteins from the ER, and which plays a cellular-level role in diseases like cancer and cystic fibrosis. Neal’s seminar will be titled "The role of rhomboid pseudoproteases in ERADicating misfolded membrane substrates".
The Biology Colloquium series is held every Friday during the semester, at 2:00pm in Chaparral Hall room 5125.
