Colloquium: Harada on the regulation of seed development

Dr. Harada (UC Davis website)

This week’s seminar in the Biology Colloquium series launches will be presented by John Harada, a Professor in the Department of Plant Biology at UC Davis. Dr. Harada studies the genetic and biological basis of embryogenesis and seed development in plants — the processes by which plants’ double fertilization leads to development of an embryo and the endosperm and seed coat tissues that support and protect it. His presentation will be titled “How do plants make seeds? Defining gene regulatory networks controlling seed development”.

Because CSUN has suspended large in-person meetings to help slow the transmission of the novel coronavirus, this week’s Colloquium will be presented by videoconference on the Zoom service. You can watch the presentation on Friday at 2pm via this meeting link, with passcode biology. (Following the link may prompt the installation of the Zoom app in order to display video.)
