Colloquium: Rodriguez-Verdugo on how microbial communities evolve together

Dr. Rodriguez-Verdugo (Rodriguez-Verdugo Lab website)

The Fall 2024 Biology Colloquium Series continues Friday with a seminar by Alejandra Rodriguez-Verdugo, Assistant Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Irvine. Dr. Rodriguez-Verdugo studies how ecological interactions in microbial communities shape the evolution of species within those communities. Her talk will be titled, “Evolution and maintenance of microbial diversity in synthetic communities”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. Rebolleda Gómez will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
