CSUN Biology undergraduate researcher Chris Cerda has been awarded a travel grant to present at the annual meeting of the American Society of Plant Biologists this summer. Cerda is working in the lab of Associate Professor Chhandak Basu, studying the genetic modification of Arabidopsis and tobacco to produce biodiesel compounds for use as an alternative source of renewable, eco-friendly fuel.
