Biology graduate student Danielle Becker has received the second-place Master’s Research Scholarship from the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. The award recognizes Becker, a first-year student in the lab of Assistant Professor Nyssa Silbiger, alongside graduate researchers at San Diego State University, the University of Washington, and the University of Hawaii, and provides $1500 in support of her thesis project, “Investigating the effects of local stressors on the life cycle of a brooding coral, Pocillopora acuta, in Mo’orea.”
