The CSUN Microbiology Student Association will host a seminar by Dr. Holly Bik, from the department of Nematology, this Thursday at 11am in the University Student Union Panorama City Room. Dr. Bik will present on her research in the diversity of microbial eukaryotic communities — including nematodes, protists, and fungi — particularly in marine sediments. Her seminar will be titled “Characterizing the marine sediment microbiome: From global patterns to host-associated trends.”
Students and faculty interested in the use of genomic data for community ecology and evolution, and in understudied aspects of marine biology, are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided.
