Colloquium: zur Nieden on the pivotal role of FOXO3a in the life of cells

Dr. zur Nieden

The Fall 2023 Biology Colloquium Series continues this Friday with a seminar by Nicole zur Nieden, Associate Professor of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at UC Riverside. Dr. zur Nieden studies the molecular determinants of cell fate in the process by which embryonic stem cells differentiate into osteoblasts. Her seminar, given with support from the URISE and BRIDGEs to the PhD programs, will be titled, “The forkhead transcription factor FOXO3a links oxidative stress, metabolism and cell fate decisions”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. zur Nieden will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
