Dr. Rebolleda Gómez (COMMONS Lab website)

The Fall 2024 Biology Colloquium Series continues Friday with a seminar by María Rebolleda Gómez, Assistant Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Irvine. Dr. Rebolleda Gómez studies how microbial species evolve, come together to form ecological communities, and influence each other’s evolution in community. Her talk, supported by URISE and Bridges to the PhD, will be titled, “From cells to communities: Metabolic rules of community assembly”.

Colloquium series seminars are held Fridays at 2pm in Chaparral Hall room 5122. Dr. Rebolleda Gómez will be available after the seminar to meet with students during a “Meet the Speaker” reception, with light refreshments, in Chaparral Hall 5201.
